College Portfolio

Snow Angels

This is a collection of some pictures I took on a snowy day. It was horrid lighting outside, but the snow and the sun that shown through periodically made up for the cold and bad lighting. A superb day with my super girls.

More Portraits

The couple below hired me to take pictures of them together. I gladly loaded up my gear and took these pictures on an amazing fall afternoon. I hope you like them!

The girl below is my sister. We went out to take her
school pictures. The lighting out was horrible, but you wouldn't
know by looking at the shot. The shutter speed, exposure comp.,
ISO setting, and metering was all adjusted to make the shots look
as they do below.
The couple below is my sister and her boyfriend. This is nearly unedited.
I didn't like the sunspot at first, but I've grown to like the candid unplanned
look to the whole thing.

Germany in black and white

Front, Back, Side Lights

This was an assignment for my photography course: photograph front light, back light, and side light.

Back light: The subject is lit up from behind.
(The light source is in front of the photographer)

Side light: The subject is lit up from the side.
(The light source is perpendicular to the photographer)

Front light: The subject is lit up from the front.
(The light source is behind the photographer)

Can you tell which photograph is lit each way?

Northfield vs. RUHS varsity boys soccer game

The game was tied from the start 1-1. Randolph had three benched players: Mead Binhammer, captain, with a broken hip. Cody Martin, the starting goalie, with a pulled hamstring. And Ben Jickling, a strong force on the defensive line with a hurt knee. With two subs are the start of the game the Ghost were playing a tough game. Early second half, star player, Zach Miller was sent off the field with a red card. Thus meaning he is out for the next game too. With a deep bench of valuable players and field full of young, but strong players, the Ghosts persued. Unfortunately Northfield scored bringing the score up 2-1. With one sub, the team played a tight and tough game against Northfield. A great game was played by all, but the Randolph defense was especially tight and together. A new goalie, and new defensive players, and loosing Miller mid game may have been a hard obstacle, but the team didn't let this hinder their efforts.

Portraiture

A melody and mixture of the kinds of portraits I do are posted below. I do a variety of shots. Senior pictures- you standard smiles and "candid" shots. I also do real candid shots (like the first image below). I'll sometimes gather with friends who will model specifically for me in weird and artistic ways. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my portraiture. Enjoy!

Sports

Recently I have been hired by The Herald of Randolph to take high school athletic photos. Here are a few!
